Fees to the general public and attorneys for notarizations at jails, prisons, detention centers, courthouses or attorney offices depend upon the requirements of each job, the location of the facility, and the time frame required.  The minimum fee for a document such as a Power of Attorney or an Affidavit of Inability to Appear for a Marriage License at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California is a minimum of $100* for the first hour (most jobs can be completed within an hour).  Any time over an hour is billed at $25 every 15 minutes.
